I have decided that

today will be valentine’s day

so I shall only speak

of romantic love

or is it romanticized infatuation?

I have decided

Made a resolution

to beautify the routine,

paint it red

with the blood of a fractured heart

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

I shall not speak of pain & anguish

Nor shall I mention comfort & joy

Trust will be left to the lovers

Confusion entrusted to the romantic

The infatuated will carry forgiveness

Whilst the romanticized will forever

dream of truth

Today is Valentine’s day

chocolate flowers

teddy bear hearts

or even

sonneted cards.

Dear Saint Valentine,

Today is a day of limbo

Quench my thirst with water.

“I love you.”

“Okay.”
